I just discovered your Substack. Fascinating. I do need a primer for your recommendations. I’m not familiar with many of the acronyms and programs that you suggest as steps that we can take and their implications. Would you mind writing that up as we know the devil in the details?
Reading the US trade statement, my impression is that the economic levers they used are to force us into the “forward looking“ last paragraph. This is not a surprise since warned us that they would economically break us to absorb us one way or another.
So why have we not been nationally discussing these and being distracted by the economic levers, even though these levers are very real. Sleight-of-hand? It seems as if 95% of the press and much commentary is focussed on the levers not the goal.
Fwiw, I've found a lot of what you ask for in your first paragraph can be resolved with a google search. (Don't use Google's AI; it's clunky and in my experience, usually not correct.) As to implications, aren't we all guessing into the future?
Canadians are ready and willing but Americans are angry too for all the problems their White House has created.
Big difference tolerating pain caused by a foreign source as opposed to getting it from your own government.
